This webinar is the 3rd & final in the series on ‘The Rise of the Goddess’
Today’s webinar will continue to focus on the phenomenon of matriarchal rule in the animal kingdom; in particular termites. Termites are one of the three keystone species in the Okavango Delta helping to engineer and sustain this ‘Garden of Eden’. The other two species include Hippo and Elephant, both of whom are matriarchal.
John will speak about the intricate intelligence found in the termite mound with the queen co-ordinating all activities. In many ways the termite mound and it’s shape could represent the ‘rise of the Goddess’ or feminine energy which is evident in the natural world.
John will introduce the idea of two spirits from North American Indian culture where certain individuals are seen to have both male and female spirits. This can be witnessed in the modern world with the rise of transgender communities and a growing awareness of the flexibility of gender.
In many traditional cultures the earth is personified in a feminine way, as a goddess. For instance Mother nature is a focus on the life giving and nurturing aspects of nature. However, modern Western culture doesn’t adequately honour the feminine. This is witnessed through gender inequality and environmental destruction, resulting in tremendous suffering in the plant, animal & human worlds.
How can we as human beings learn from the natural world? In particular in how to embrace the feminine. How can we surrender, let go, and trust ? The natural world is all about yielding, listening and then taking action if it’s been called for.
This webinar will include a few guided meditations to deepen our connection to the ‘goddess’ and the primordial soup of feminine energy which permeates the natural world.
Time: 9am PST (Los Angeles); 10am Mountain Time (Boulder); 12pm EST (New York); 6pm South Africa (Cape Town); 4pm UK (London). If you can’t make it live, don’t worry, you will receive the recording afterwards.
