I have been creating sacred altars since 2008 when I was first called to bring sangoma teachings overseas. It is amazing what can be created with a white candle and earth! The dreams, stories and community feeling or what we call ‘Ubuntu’ in South Africa, has been profound and sublime. in this series of webinars i intend to share some of my experience & teachings from leading international retreats in a circle around an earth altar.
I created altars in all the main centres in the world; New York, Dublin, London, Tokyo, Amsterdam, Vancouver & the rural areas of Zululand, South Africa and recently the Kalahari desert in Botswana.
An altar is easy to make. Encouraging people to step into the circular portal of timelessness is challenging. How can we do this together? Join me for this important webinar.
This is the 3rd and final webinar in the series devoted to creating sacred rituals, space & altars. A key area of discussion is how to maintain our spiritual practice and realise our spiritual calling amidst the hustle and bustle of a busy life. A ritual is a ceremony dedicated to helping us step into our highest selves, our spirit, that part of us that transcends the limitations of our physical bodies.
In this webinar we will sum up the process of creating an altar for spiritual practice. Last month we looked at love rituals. Today we will focus on ‘abundance’. How can we attract more abundance in our lives? In traditional Sangoma circles we don’t differentiate spiritual abundance from material. They are very similar. A silver coin in a divination can denote luck & blessing from our ancestral spirits, and the promise of attracting abundance. We will use these principles in discussing how to create a sacred ritual + altar to increase our vibration and our ability to ‘khanya’ - shine.
Altars are a way for people to be reminded of their spiritual direction. In order for spiritual practices to gain momentum and bring about change they need to be done regularly. A simple altar is a powerful reminder.
